Dr. Tom Misner

CEO, Founder and President

SAE Institute was founded by Tom Misner in Sydney, Australia. Prior to SAE, Tom Misner was working in various recording studios both in Australia and the US as sound engineer/producer. Tom Misner designed the first practical audio program and was teaching/managing SAE until 1990. Tom Misner took on the CEO role in 1990 and has since guided the direction of the company in aspects of expansion and program development. Middlesex University awarded a Doctorate to Tom Misner in 2001.

Rudi Grieme

Managing Director | Senior Vice-President

Rudi Grieme joined the company in 1986 as a tutor in Munich, Germany, and since then has worked for SAE Institute in various executive positions all over the world. Rudi was promoted to join the Board of Directors in 1997 and takes responsibility for the day-to-day business of the company. Rudi continues to pursue an active personal interest in music and music technology.

Marco Bettelli

Director of Operations Middle East & Asia Pacific

From a background in architecture, Marco Bettelli moved into technology in 1996 by joining SAE as Assistant Manager of SAE Milano. Now the Director of Operations Middle East and Asia Pacific, Marco has extensive experience in various management roles, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia, and has been responsible for the establishment of various new schools as well as recent business acquisitions. Marco was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2000 and is currently based at SAE's Corporate World Headquarters in Byron Bay, Australia.

Philippe "pik" Küchler

Director of Swiss Operations

Philippe "pik" Küchler, born 1972 in Switzerland, has been working for SAE since 1995 in several different positions. His background is his own company in the electronic media business which was founded in 1994. Pik is currently the Director of Swiss Operations, lives in the eastern part of Switzerland near Lake Constance and operates from his base at SAE Institute Zurich. His main hobby is flying in general and aerobatics in particular.

Andy Grotloh

Director of German Operations

Andy Grotloh, born 1967 in Switzerland, has been working for SAE since 1989 in several leading management positions. Andy is currently the Director of German Operations, lives in the wonderful bavarian countryside and operates from his base at SAE Institute Munich. His hobbies are digital media in general and geocaching!
