SAE Awards 2025

The SAE Awards recognize outstanding talent in creative media, showcasing the best projects from SAE students and alumni worldwide.

This prestigious competition offers a platform to gain industry recognition and connect with professionals. Show us your favorite project and win the prestigious Trophy for you and your campus.

The Submission Deadline is July 4th, 2025.

How to take part

2025 marks the 19th anniversary of the SAE Awards,
our acclaimed creative-media competition. Present your projects to the public and receive the recognition you deserve!

Entry Guidelines The SAE Student Awards:

  • Are open to all SAE students (current students or graduates from the past 12 months)

  • All projects created as part of your SAE program can be submitted, but only one project per person and category.

  • If you have additional reference material (EPK, promo material, clips or pictures, etc.), please include them in the delivery.

The SAE Alumni Awards:
Open to all.
How to submit The deadline for entries is 04 July 2025.

Please send a web transfer with your registration and the completed registration form to the President of your Alumni Chapter. You will find your local contact by clicking the button below.

We will email you confirming that we have received your entry and that it has been entered into the competition.
Judgement Entries will be judged on quality, not quantity.

The judges will consider the technical, creative and overall quality of your work in relation to your role(s) in the project.

It is necessary to send us the registartion form so that we can understand your role in the project.

ALUMNI CATEGORIES


This category is for music production in a commercially relevant music style.

  • Please submit one track only.
  • Audio Files in .wav format.
  • Optional: Artwork, accompanying video material

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

 

This category is for audio projects (not music!), such as audio dramas, commercials, film sound, sound design, sound branding, sound libraries, etc. We won’t accept music productions for this category!

  • Please submit in a common format that the judging panel can review with standard equipment.
  • Audio Files in .wav format.
  • Optional: Artwork, accompanying video material

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

This category is for movies, short films, music videos, documentaries, TV shows, commercials, etc.

  • Please submit in a common format that can be reviewed by the judging panel with standard equipment.
  • Film files in HD, MP4 format.
  • Optional: Artwork

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

 

This category is for animations like stop-motion, CGI, claymation, hand-drawn, etc.

  • Please submit in a common format that can be reviewed with standard-equipment.
  • Film files in HD, MP4-format
  • Optional: Artwork, Making Of

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

This category is for photography, concept art, 2D and 3D designs, graphics, etc.

  • Please submit in a common format that the judging panel can review with standard equipment.
  • If possible, please add a screencast showing how the project was created.
  • Clips covering a photo shoot etc. are also welcome.
  • Submit the final product as a PDF, MP4, JPEG or PNG file

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

This category is for game projects. All genres are allowed.

  • Submit in a common format that can be reviewed with standard equipment.
  • Please add a screencast of your game production or in-game material if possible.

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

This category is intended for music business concepts, start-ups, event formats or new business ideas.

  • Please submit in a common format that the judging panel with standard equipment can review.
  • If possible, submit a film documentary that explains the project.
  • These can be music videos, event films or image films.
  • The format for these clips is mp4 in HD.

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

 

This category recognizes the best marketing concepts, social media campaigns or account creations.

  • Please submit in a common format that the judging panel with standard equipment can review.
  • If possible, submit a film documentary that explains the project.
  • This may include a screencast, interviews or similar.
  • The format for these clips is mp4 in HD.

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

 

This category is for any web/ internet platform, mobile application, new technology project, software, etc.

  • Please submit in a common format that can be reviewed with standard equipment.
  • Submit documentation and a short trailer showing the functionality of the website/app or technical project.

Projects may not be resubmitted in subsequent years.

Registration Form

It is necessary to fill in the registration form and send it with your project to your Chapter President.
The annual SAE Awards recognise outstanding media productions. Show us your best work and win for yourself and your campus! The Awards have established themselves as a springboard for participants, helping them succeed professionally. Submit your best project and take home one of the coveted trophies!

The SAE Awards ceremony will take place at the SAE Awards Gala on 21st October 2025 in Cologne, Germany.

SAE Creative Media Institute is celebrating 50 years of shaping the future of creative media. With a global presence spanning 47 campuses in 19 countries, SAE empowers over 12,500 students annually to push the boundaries of animation, audio, computer science, creative industries, design, film, games, music, VFX, and virtual production. To mark this milestone, we are launching a student-led creative competition that will define the look and sound of our 50-year anniversary across our global network.
