Johannes Gall

I laid the foundation for my career in 2013 with my studies in “Digital Film Production & VFX” at the SAE Institute in Stuttgart. My own focus was on the areas of “production” and “post-production”.
During my studies, I already started my own business and after graduation, I worked again and again in permanent positions or as a freelancer. From 2016 until the end of 2021, I worked mainly in production management on a wide variety of television and cinema films, including several Tatorte, which I consider my personal career highlight.
In 2022, I took over the Stuttgart branch of D-Facto Motion GmbH as branch manager. As a subsidiary of Bavaria Film, we take care of all the necessary steps within post-production to bring great films and series to the TV or screen.
In addition to my work in the company, the promotion of young talent and the improvement of working conditions in the film industry is close to my heart. That’s why I’m involved in the board of the Filmverband Südwest (FVSW) and the Bundesverband für Green Consultants (BVGCD).
Together with my former fellow student Simon Knobloch, I have been publishing the filmmaker podcast “Setfunk 5” since 2017. Here we talk about our current projects and use our experience to help young filmmakers and young professionals gain a foothold in the film industry.
In addition, I have been happy to work as a lecturer for the SAE Institute for several years.
