Bio
After finishing school 2013, I started to study Mathematics and Computer Science at Ruhr University Bochum and quickly decided that I want to discontinue my studies there.
It was simply way too theoretical and boring to me. I also didn’t like to feel like “any” student among a thousand others. Soon I found out about SAE Cologne – a practical approach with a focused study plan on game development, supervisors who always help you out, teachers directly from the industry, exactly what I wanted! So, I started to study Games Programming from 2013 until 2017, without any basic knowledge about Computer Science or Programming. At SAE it doesn’t matter if you start studying with an entry or advanced level. Due to the smaller classes, teachers have the time to adjust the course for all students together with the supervisors who help after class. After graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Games Programming it was time to finally head out to the games industry. Thanks to many gaming events during our time at SAE, I already got the chance to build up a small network. But my goal was to stay in Germany, so jobs were quite limited, and I decided to start working as Quality Assurance for two companies. Until 2016 I worked with indie development studio Linked Dimensions based in Cologne, Germany and 2017 I moved to Worms, Germany to work for Kalypso Media Group as a QA and Submission Manager. During that time, I helped for several gaming events and got in touch with many more people from the industry and acquired lots of experience. 2019 I decided to apply for an internal job position as a Junior PR Manager – and got it. This was the beginning of my PR career. Even though I studied Games Programming, you never know what kind of opportunist life thoughts at you. In August 2020 I quit, moved again, and started to work for the independent indie game’s publisher Assemble Entertainment based in Wiesbaden, Germany – where I happily work until today. Even though I didn’t end up as a Programmer for a development studio I can be proud to have gained the experience on the development and publisher side, which is a huge bonus to completely understand the process behind developing and market games! SAE Cologne was where my journey started, and I have fond memories of this exciting time.
