SAE Environment

Successful learning and knowledge transfer depend on many factors. In addition to assured quality standards, the environment, an appreciative attitude and sustainability also play a major role for us.
2891t tons of CO2 offset Certified, we are actively committed to climate protection and offset our CO2 emissions by supporting environmental protection projects.
4285sq of forests protected We continue to protect 4.285 m2 of valuable natural treasures, the species-rich "primeval forest project" in the Eifel, the climate-stable "primeval forests of tomorrow" in the Uckermark and the vital "floodplain forests" of the middle Elbe.
100% renewable energies When it comes to renewable energies, we are 100% on board. All our German sites use 100% clean green electricity from 100% renewable energy sources.

Our CO2 compensation

SAE-Institute GmbH has been certified as a “climate-neutral company” and offsets CO2 according to the Gold Standard.

Our CO2 footprint is calculated every 2 years and 100% offset through verifiable measures. Our goal is to continuously reduce our CO2 consumption.

We have reduced our annual CO2 emissions from 990 tons to 459 tons. Certified, we are actively committed to climate protection and are constantly reducing our CO2 footprint.

Our collaboration with the WWF

We are delighted that we have enjoyed a particularly valuable partnership with WWF Germany (Word Fund for Nature) for many years and that we actively contribute to greater biodiversity, environmental protection and nature conservation. As a member of the WWF Living Planet Club, we support the WWF in its work to be able to fully commit to the preservation of biodiversity in the most precious ecoregions on our planet.

Among other things, we protect …

  • 1,959 m2 of valuable WWF forest area such as the climate-stable ‘primeval forests of tomorrow’ in the Uckermark or the vital ‘floodplain forests’ in the river landscapes of the middle Elbe,
  • support the Ocean4you / WWF project, which fishes plastic waste from the oceans and produces stylish bracelets from the recycled plastic.
  • run with 65 SAE runners in the WWF company run ‘run4nature’ for ‘the hidden champions of nature’. Species conservation, health and team building all in one,
  • go on WWF excursions to the fascinating floodplain forests of the Middle Elbe and plant trees, hang up nesting boxes, sow acorns and much more,
  • organise WWF workshops on the work of nature conservation and the use of state-of-the-art technology such as drones, wildlife cameras, microphones, GPS and AI,
  • contribute to a better understanding of species, nature and climate protection with our various student projects together with the WWF,
  • such as the WWF Green Game Jam, in which our students across 12 SAE locations developed 27 creative games and digital solutions that make learning about nature fun,

… and continue to be a reliable partner in expanding our collaboration with WWF to work together for climate protection, oceans, wildlife, forests, water, biodiversity and sustainable living.

Our forest protection projects

In co-operation with the innovative sustainability project GamesforestClub, we have already planted 700 trees and protect 2,585 m² forest.

Our digital forest ‘The SAE Institute Forest’ is realised with real projects by WWF, Waldakademie and Plant-for-the-Planet.

Together with the Wohllebens Waldakademie, the leading private educational institution for forest and nature issues in Germany, we support the ‘UrwaldProjekt’, a project recognised by the United Nations and thus protect another 1,700 m² of valuable forest.

700 trees planted In cooperation with the innovative sustainability project GamesforestClub and the Yucatan Restoration Project Mexico, we have planted 700 trees.
2585sq of forests protected Our forest reserves, totalling 2,585 m2, are made up of the following areas:
• 773 m²: German Beech Jungle in the Eifel
• 350 m²: Old-Growth Forest in the Uckermark
• 1.462 m²: Alluvial Forests in Middle Elbe
1700sq of virgin forests protected 700 m² ‘The young Savages’ and 1000 m² ‘Beech Giants’
With this sponsorship, we have our own protected area for the next 50 years and are helping to save ancient forests. We make an important contribution to preserving biodiversity and protecting our local ecosystems, and: an additional 59 KG CO2 per square metre is bound.
