About student accommodation
Moving away from home to start university is an exciting milestone, but it can also feel overwhelming. At SAE, we understand the importance of safe, comfortable, and affordable accommodation while you focus on your creative journey.
With campuses in London, Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds, and Leamington Spa, you’ll be studying in some of the UK’s most dynamic creative hubs. To help those moving away from home, we’ve put together the following information and links to help ensure you find the right accommodation.
There are two types of accommodation options to choose from: halls of residence or private-rented. Scroll down to explore more information on each of them and make an informed decision that is best suited to your needs!
Feel free to also check out our dedicated FAQs for any further information and tips on accommodation.

Student halls of residence are purpose-built accommodations designed for student living, typically featuring self-contained flats. The cost usually covers utility bills, including gas, water, electricity, and Wi-Fi, so there are no extra charges to worry about. These halls also provide on-site management and maintenance staff during the day, with security staff present at night for added safety.
There are a variety of room options, from single rooms with shared facilities to en-suite and studio apartments. To secure a room, students will need to pay a deposit (typically around £350) and sign a license to occupy. It’s recommended to book early to take advantage of special offers, but be mindful of early cancellation policies.
Please note: SAE does not own or manage any student halls—all accommodation is privately owned, and applications must be made directly with the provider.

Many students at SAE choose to live in shared rental accommodation with fellow students or friends, making it one of the most cost-effective and social ways to experience student life. You can either find a room in an existing shared house or connect with other new students looking to secure a place together.
Living in a shared house is a key part of the student experience, offering the chance to develop independence, teamwork, and valuable life skills. Navigating shared responsibilities and learning to adapt to communal living can be both rewarding and transformative, shaping future housing choices.
To help you get started, we’ve put together essential information and guidance.
