SAE students joined their peers from a range of universities, colleges and academic institutions to take part in a Global Game Jam.
Goldsmiths, University of London, was the primary in-person host, providing facilities for participants.
In addition, all SAE UK campuses were open to SAE students, offering access to equipment, on-site lecturers, and alumni for guidance and support throughout the event.
A total of 256 students took part in the Game Jam with 44 SAE students engaging.
Hamie Nouri, Games Design Lecturer, said: “We were very proud to have such a significant presence at the event with the highest number of participants among the UK hosts.”
“The Game Jam was a great success, especially given the impressive number of participants across UK campuses. The level of creativity, collaboration, and energy from everyone involved was truly inspiring. While the timing of this year’s event presented some challenges, the enthusiasm and engagement remained high.”
“I believe this experience has set the stage for an even bigger and better Game Jam next year, with the potential to attract even more participants and create new opportunities for collaboration across institutions.”
Continuing, Hamie said: “Opportunities like this Game Jam provide students with valuable hands-on experience, helping them develop scoping, planning, and communication skills. It’s also a great chance to network with peers, industry professionals, and alumni, preparing them for real-world game development. Considering how UniJam brings together students from different universities who wouldn’t usually meet, it expands their networking circle even further.”
