SAE’s Duncan Lewis judges fundraising songwriting contest

SAE's Duncan Lewis judges Liverpool songwriting competition.

SAE Music Business Lecturer Duncan Lewis was among the judges for Primal Live, a fundraising songwriting competition showcasing local talent.

The battle of the bands style event at Liverpool’s Camp and Furnace saw local artists and bands compete in a contest that raised more than £4,000 for the Whitechapel Centre, a homeless charity in Liverpool.

15-year-old Ava Fitz won both prizes for best song and best performance with an additional prize awarded to rapper OTB for his rap about homelessness.

Commenting, Duncan said: “Congratulations to all those who entered and showed off their talents on the stage of Camp and Furnace. Special mention to AVA and OTV on their inspiring music. I’m looking forward to welcoming them to my retreat where they can invest some time in their creative craft and developing their skills further.”

We’re so proud of everyone who took part and made it such a success – each and every one of them are stars!
