SAE’s Orvar Thorvaldsson to host Mastering talk at Resonate

Resonate 2024 is a music industry event taking place in Glasgow.

SAE Audio Production lecturer Orvar Thorvaldsson will be hosting a session as part of Resonate 2024 on Demystifying the Art of Mastering. 

Hosted by the team behind 23rd Precinct Music, Resonate 2024 will take place on 28th November at Platform in Glasgow with Orvar among a host of leading industry professionals coming together to share their expertise and industry knowledge. 

His talk will take place in Arch 6 from 10am and is aimed at aspiring music producers to help them take their music to the next level and ensure their tracks are ready to be professionally released. 

SAE will be hosting a workshop on mastering at Resonate 2024.

SAE will be hosting a workshop on mastering at Resonate 2024.

The event will feature panels with prominent industry figures such as Kenny McGoff (Head of A&R at Kobalt, known for signing Calvin Harris, Gerry Cinnamon, Joesef, and The Fratellis), Ollie Hodge (A&R who has signed the likes of George Ezra, The Vaccines, and MGMT), Claire Grogan (Altered Images), Nicola Meighan (BBC Scotland), Grant Hutchinson (Frightened Rabbit) Catherine Grieves (Music Supervisor, worked on productions such as Baby Reindeer) and many others.

The conference will conclude with keynote speaker, prolific songwriter and producer John Mcglaughin (Massive Attack, Westlife, Shane Mcgowan, Sandi Thom, Busted, Rod Stewart, Echo & the Bunnymen and many more) while live music will also be part of the event too, showcasing some of the best local bands and artists.
