Giulio Matheson is a London-based multimedia artist, sound designer, and multi-instrumentalist producer whose work spans interactive sound installations, music production, and performance.
With a focus on sonic arts, Matheson is particularly interested in using sound to communicate complex scientific and environmental phenomena. One of his most notable projects, SoniContamination, translates real-time water quality data into immersive soundscapes. This interactive piece aims to raise awareness about environmental degradation by blending data-driven technology with sound, engaging audiences in new ways.
Matheson’s versatility extends beyond sound art into the realm of music production and sound design, where he has worked on various multimedia projects, including short films, promotional videos, singles and EPs by emerging songwriters, and television assignments. In these roles, he frequently serves as a music producer, sound designer, recording, mixing and mastering engineer.
In addition to his production work, Matheson is the vocalist and guitarist for the band Skull Above the Cannon, and also active in the acoustic duo Beija Flor, where he collaborates with fellow musician and friend Alessandra Pirrone.
