Shaping Worlds Through Art
Scott Smith is a Lecturer in Games Art and Animation at SAE Leamington Spa. With a background in Illustration and Animation, Scott brings years of creative teaching experience and a deep understanding of both 2D and 3D workflows – from traditional fine art and art history to modern digital production.
Industry Experience
Alongside his teaching, Scott’s freelance work has spanned a range of visual projects, blending traditional techniques with contemporary design. His practice allows students to see how artistic principles evolve through technology, bridging the gap between brush and pixel, sketch and render.
Creative Philosophy
Scott is passionate about interaction and collaboration, thriving in spaces where creative minds come together to learn, experiment, and innovate. He believes that great art emerges through connection – between people, disciplines, and ideas – and encourages students to find their own voice within that creative network.

At SAE Leamington Spa, Scott has led multiple modules across trimesters, helping students strengthen both their technical craft and artistic confidence. His goal is to help every learner see the link between the classical foundations of art and the cutting-edge tools shaping today’s games industry.
